Annual Legislative Preview
Each year in early January, the New Mexico Society of Association Executives hosts its signature Annual Legislative Preview. The event appeals to association executives, government affairs professionals, and community leaders, as they will have the chance to network and hear from an array of key players in the Roundhouse.
The New Mexico legislative session has the potential to signficantly impact New Mexico association and their members. Whether it is economic development issues, election issues, education issues, employment issues or infrastruction issues, each can negatively or positively affect an association's membership.
The Legislative Preview routinely features legislative leadership from both the House of Representatives and the State Senate, as well as representatives from the Office of the Governor and cabinent secretaries.
The event is typically chaired by by Joe Menapace, veteran lobbyist and former President of NMSAE. Speakers present perspectives on issues, positions and expected outcomes and key agency staff will review their mission and functions.
